I think it was the first movie I saw multiple times in the theater. My Dad liked it a lot. At least you didn't have to put up with the wait between Empire Strikes Back & Return of the Jedi! I thought I would freakin' die, I never seen a movie just stop without a real ending.

I think the gap was 2-3 years. Empire was 80 or 81 or something like that.

| | | huge star wars nerd right here. I don't generally play video games though.
Have you ever seen that footage of triumph the insult comic dog talking to all of the people waiting in line for when the new ones came out? It's about the funniest thing I've ever seen.

We rented it at one point because we were really stuck for something to do, and we decided we'd be caught up if Episode 3 was actually good. That didn't work, though, because by the time we saw and liked Episode 3, I couldn't remember a damn thing about 2, except that I hated it. It took me approximately 45 minutes and some googling to find pictures from it to convince Mr. Wildwoman that we'd seen it at all.

| | | I'm one of the rare fans who wasn't too upset with the new pictures. Certainly the first one was visually stunning. I think the acting was pretty poor in parts (throughout the 3 films) and it irritates me to no end that Lucas chose only to develop Natalie Portman's role in the last film as a mother and slighted/confused girl when they had already filmed parts that developed her role more as one of the founders of the rebel alliance. ffs, they could have cut out lots of the wookiee battles and put in just a few extra minutes of her & the rebels in there and it would have made me much happier.
My roommate was watching the first one again the other day so I saw bits of it while I was in the kitchen cooking. I must admit that I find it slightly disturbing that annakin and padme end up together because she knew him since he was a little kid. I actually thought about starting a thread on this very topic because of it, and I think I still might. It's different if you meet the person when you're older I think, but if you meet the person when they're a kid, I dunno, I have mixed feelings.

What was Lucas thinking when he realised the 4th one? I was overjoyed at the opening credits and music then spent the rest of the time trying to force myself into liking it. Same with the one after. I think the characters had a lot to do with it, Hans was possibably the best character in the originals for me.
As for the padme and annakin thing, yeah it was a tad strange. But by the time the third movie came round i was just glad he was a grown up and things were picking up a bit of the o'll starwars magic!
