So most likely, no, people woudln't have found it frightening; just something grotesque and (albeit inadvertently) hilarious. Though I did hear before that there were people that found it offensive, due to the over-the-top nature of the film. |

While some of those delightful Turkish rip-offs are lametastic (but not without their charm!), no one out-lames cinema rip-offs like Italy did (which I love as well).
