| | | Being John Malkovich One of the weirdest films I've ever seen. I loved it, I love it so much. That's all I have to say, I'm speechless.
Rent the fuck out of it! Everyone!

| | | I will. What else is Catherine Keener in, she was amazing! Hahaha, I just fucking laughed my ass off when Shwartz as John goes with Maxine to that PR firm or whatever and him he's going to give up acting and become a puppeteer and they start laughing together.
I fucking love this film.
And the TV spots and trailer are strange as Hell too! Some of the best I've seen. It's like... the divide between the two centuries, style-wise.

Charlie Kaufman has got to be my favourite script writer of all time. Everything he writes is just so fucking WEIRD but incredibly imaginative.
I dug Being John Malkovich out of my video cabinet the other day and I take this thread as a sign that I definitely need to watch it again soon. |

| | | loved this film. catherine keener was really the centerpiece of this film. she was a knockout in the role, overshadowed everyone. i loved how bitchy and tragic her character is. she's brilliant. when john cusack threatens to kill himself and she suggests the window. ha. she's also so beautiful in this.
cameron diaz was annoying though, even beneath all that hair. |

| | | The director for both was the Spike Jonze better known for his video directing. ( Weezer, Bjork, Beastie Boys.) He even has a dvd compilation of his videos. |

| | | I want to get the boxset of the Cunningham/Jonze/Gondry music videos, but I haven't yet...
Michel Gondry worked on the visual direction of Eternal Sunshine, for inquiring minds.

| | | adaptation is brilliant. i love how the movie switches genres halfway through and becomes what it is about.
catherine keener is good in '40 year old virgin' and i love her in 'lovely and amazing.' she's just so juvenile and idealistic in that movie. she's also really sarcastic and increasingly resentful. it makes for a good contrast. |
