| | yes, another 6ft under thread. dont read it if you havent watched all of them. i watched the whole series from start to finish again. its like watching a massively long movie. its my favourite.
when i watched it the first time i really had no appreciation for david. i couldnt stand him, felt he was pathetic and whiney with little redeeming qualities. i dont know what it was about him this time around that made me really like him almost more than my favourites (brenda & billy). he kind of felt real. like the most real character. he had the worst breakdown/s and when he cried it felt the most tragic. i felt that he made the most changes as a person and i think he ended up the happiest. i felt most proud of him at the end.
the incest themes were stronger than i remembered the first time around. with brenda dreaming about it in the last few episodes. billy kind of invaded her in every sense. i like that. i probably shouldnt.
as stereotypical as ted was i couldnt help but love him. i kind of want to whack him in the face every time he's nice though. but i do love him. and then esp at the end when they get married. its pretty great.
i wanna beat that WEASEL MEALY FACED MAGGIE up. real bad.

| | aww i sort of liked maggie. i liked brenda in the beginning but towards the end i sort of started to hate her. im not sure why i just did. Claire was my favorite because i could relate to her the most but David was def a close second. i agree that he was the most real character and i love the way his relationship with keith wasnt portrayed as the typical gay relationship. you know like how it seems all the gay characters on most tv shows are always that sort of girly stereotype?
i wanted to buy the complete series box set but it was a little expensive so im going to save up. i cried soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fucking hard during the last episode. it was the best ending to any tv show.
god i miss that show!!! |

i couldnt understand how she could like nate more than joe (justin theroux is fucking attractive) because nate was passive aggressive and idealistic in the most offensive ways sometimes. Quote: |

| | | David always came off to me as the least annoying Fischer family member. I loved his character. Nate & Claire were the big ole whiney babies. Ruth is my fave though. I love when she gets pissed at her offspring and gives them a mouthful. My fave guest appearence was by Katy Bates. She was HILARIOUS!

Also agree about Joe, I liked him a lot. I almost ended up hating Nate as much as Maggie too. I agree about the David thing. He was always annoying and kinda whiney, but the carjacking episode really disturbed me. Probably the first time i really felt for his character.
Always loved Claire and her boyrfriends and friends.
Brenda was the most interesting character of all, and Billy was great. Billy talking Brenda to death in the last episode was fucking classic. Brilliant.
Ruth was pretty hilarious too. She had some great one-liners.
I LOVED Aunt Sarah. I wish she had been in the show more. |

| | | Rico and his wife are cute too. Very underappreciated sub characters. Rico did some slimey things, but I loved how Vanessa handled it.
MOST annoying character goes to Lisa! Was it bad that I was happy when she died?

| | | David was such a sweetie. I don't know if he was my favorite character to watch, but I think he was the one who turned out best. I loved him and Keith taking the house.
And he was just so nice. Remember Lisa's creepy little niece who attached herself to him? She sent him a book, and when he got it, he said something like "What a sweet little girl, if a little morbid." He was alone with Nate at the time, so nothing was stopping him from saying 'What the hell's wrong with her?' 'Why is she so hung up on me when we've only met twice?' or anything like that. It seemed that 'what a sweet little girl' was his genuine reaction.

The whole show developed at a normal pace , not much flashbacks and not much fastforwards; we were witnessing things unfold, and the whole show was really well-done, but the ending , to me, was cheesey. I just didn't feel it. It seemed like a predictable choice. |

Maybe becuase I've fanasized about it before, having a fastforward and just see myself minutes before I die, then I would have a clue at how I lived.
That's what I felt, I had a clue at how their lives unfolded, and if they hadn't done it, I would've remained with the curiosity. It's not like they HAD to do it, or that the show would've suffered if they didn't show their future lives, it's not necessary to the story, but it was nice. | |
