michael caine at the end "you know how I told you drowning was like going home? I lied, he said it was agony." cool

Patrick Wilson was excellent in the film but Ellen Page had to have been one of the most annoying film characters of the past 10 years. The script worked against her character so much. They made her so unlikable because they never give you any substaintial proof of the dude's guilt untill it's too late and you hate her. I think a better actress could have pulled the role of better and not made you completely hate her (even though she is supposed to be the hero). |

i thought he did a really amazing performance and the tension and atmosphere was really good. i wasn't hugely impressed with her (except in the early scenes in the coffee house), but it was a very difficult role for any actress especially a young one like her |

He tried so hard to make her a "badass" but it ruins the character. |

Did anyone ever buy him as a gay man for one minute? He seemed more like a Michael Jackson esque asexual funnyman. He was good but he wasn't the amazing performance people said he was.
However, Toby Jones NAILS it in Infamous. It's unfortunate he'll never get the praise he deserves for the performance. My only fault with the movie is that some of the prison scenes don't work as well. The NY scenes are great though, that was another area where Capote faltered. They had Truman in a smokey jazz bar chatting with a bunch of suits, whereas Infamous places him in ritzy nightclubs with glamorous women.
The executions in Infamous were really heartbreaking and Daniel Craig is very impressive as the murderer. Sandra Bullock blows Katherine Keeners Harper Lee out of the water too.
Check it out, it's well worth it. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
