i love the original but i honestly have absolutely no desire to see the remake. i don't see the appeal.

the original has a certain feel to it that i don't think could be easily replicated, especially not with a teen pop cast.

what next a remake of Last House on the Left? They can all fuck off coz I refuse. Come up of with some original ideas. Saw tried and so did Hostel, they were not the best but aleast there was an attempt to come up with something fresh albeit did take from the Japanese torture film genre.

Glitterama is on a distinguished road
Check out the trailer at http://www.blackchristmas.com/

I'm completely in two minds about this. I am outraged at how they have turned a really sinister, deeply disturbing horror film into your standard stalk-and-slay slasher. I hate that 'Scream' voice distortion thing he has going on. Billy's original phone calls still chill me, the way his voice flips between characters instantly as if there are fifteen people in the room all lining up to have their say. The way he said 'I want to lick your pretty cunt' scares me to pieces. And the pig noises! Now he's just some psycopath with a backstory and inventive kills. Why won't American horror realise that mystery is okay? I had no idea in the original whether Billy was mentally retarded (there is enough to suggest he is), simply disturbed, or an outright nutter. He had no connection to the house per se, nor to the girls. The remake just suggests a dumbing down for an audience more consumed with gore than what I believe is actual horror.

Anyway. I do like the trailer and it looks like it's shot well. I love that they've kept the eye motif - although now it is going to feel overused rather than shocking as it only happened once in the original - and the bag-over-her-head-in-the-rocking-chair-in-the-attic. I'll be going to see it when it hits cinemas.

Great promotional strategy but it all seems delusionally ambitious. Seriously though, who wants to see a horror movie let alone pay for it on a christmas eve?

Made by amateur wrestlers, who seemed quite proud if what they put the actresses through, no less (aside from being fucking awful).
But according to imdb.com, a 2008 remake of Last House on the Left is in the works.

As for Black Christmas, I recommend watching the original first if you plan on seeing the remake. I do agree with Vermin, though. Why see some horror re-hash on Christmas (unless you really hate your family)?

I want everyone involved with this new movie shot, not only fatally either.

They added a background on Billy and he now talks, the cast sucks teen balls like nothing else, and the beginning has changed (one look at the TV spot will tell you that). Plus, there's no Margot Kidder. This sucks.

I should've known that the Bravo! special a while back was a little fishy.

Sucks.

P.S. Nothing will beat the original phone calls from Billy. Vile as Hell.

Oh, I like those type of movies. Have you ever seen "The People Under the Stairs"?

I was looking though the Tribute mag last night while waiting to get into James Bond (finally got around to seeing that). Anyway, I see the ad for this movie - blood spattered Christmas ornaments- and I thought nice touch!

See I knew this movie was going to be bad but I thought it would be funny too. And it wasn't even that funny.

And then the OTHER storyline with the mother/son thing was just downright sick. There was no need for it. It was almost put in there like it was supposed to be funny.

Remake was really bad, which is saying alot for me cause I usually love most horror movies I see, even if they get bad reviews. It was just horrible. Wasn't even horror, just gore. With a tidbit of some mother and son incest
