| | I hope it's better than the first one. Also, I hope they are historically accurate and cast a BLACK WOMAN as Cleopatra. |

She was Macedonian of decent, and her dynasty respected the tradition of marrying brothers, so I can totally picture her being white.
That "Cleopatra was black" controversy started because some inferiority complex tormented black people said the white man was robbing their heritage by saying Cleo was white. How pathetic.
Anyway, Cleopatra with Liz Taylor is somewhat very accurate. what kinda bothers me is how over the top it is, and it's not very realistic lookwise. I mean you can totally see 60's fashion in Elizabeth's wardrobe and stuff.
It would be cool to see an at least visually accurate Cleopatra. |

If you look at the sculptures at the time made of her, she did not resemble a person of European ancestry (Liz). But then we must remember that nearly everyone during that time had a little "sumthin sumthin" in them because of all the race mixing that was going on between the Greeks and the Africans. |

I mean I'm not saying she was blue eyed and fair haired, she might've been kinda latin looking or something, who knows, but the few coins and busts that remain of Cleopatra, consistenly depict her as a very caucasian woman.
Specially the coins, with the long nose, uncommon in black people. |

| | | We have NO proof of her ethnicity, but most of the evidence suggests she wasn't black. |

ps - we all know highclassho hates black people, so why bother trying to convince her that cleo looked more like a black woman in reality than liz taylor. |

I am not racist and I KNOW that Cleopatra looked nothing like Elizabeth Taylor, however it is VERY UNLIKELY that she was black like Nefertiti or Hatshepsut or whatever. She was mixed race at most and that's a farfetched exageration. |

| | | do you have an idea of how many documentaries and articles I've read about Cleopatra?? and they all agree on one thing, it is very unlikely that she was black.
I'm just repeating what scientists, historians and egyptologists have been saying all the time, even now. |

| | | whatevs chica. i was just messing with you.
i don't see a big budget movie looking to find a historically accurate looking cleo at any rate.
she will probably be lily white again, though i could see them casting halle berry.
