| | | I saw it a few weeks ago. It's very good and very, very sad. The girls stepdad is one vicious bastard. |

| | | Most definately my film of the year, I went to see it twice which I *never* do...
I love the imagery, the story & the way the fairytale is juxtaposed with Ofelia's brutal stepfather...
I actually cried at one point! & Hid my eyes at others...
Love it. |

| | aha i finally saw it this past weekend, holy shit what an awesome movie, love the captain even though he was an asshole, reminded me of mixture of Hitler and my dad jajajajaja, however the faun was the best, he looked really cool they way he talked was neat too. the little girl that played Ofelia was great too. i liked the way Del Toro used all the elements of fantasy and action. the ending was very sad indeed
well done!! i tip ma hat to you Mr Del Toro |

| | | the torture wasn't actually shown, just the night before and the morning after. it would be hard to make a movie about a girl dealing with the horrors of war by making them into a fairy tale without showing some of those horrors. the only really brutal bit was the wine bottle scene
i liked the horses charging up the hill |

the scene with the lip sewing was pretty grim, if you ask me.
as was the scene where you see the informant's hand. |

| | | loved it but it was fucking sad and man WAY too much of the horrid shit.
what i hatre ios the previews made it out to be like some narnia adventure when it so fucking wasn't.
that said it was a brilliant tale of the brutality of facism vs a kid's private universe (well you could interpret that it was just her imagination to escape the brutality of the reality of life but i prefer to err on the side that it all relally happened and she really was a princess) | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | |
