| | | First time is alright, but after that it's just a movie about walking down corridors. And I know supernaturalisms are at work, but Jack does fly off the handle in super-quick time. I guess he was predisposed.

| | | I love the Shining. The blood coming out of the elevators was always the freakiest scene ever in a movie. I first saw it at 2 am, not sober, a very long time ago. OH SHIT never watch the Shining completely wasted, it will make you practically shit your pants. |

When I walk down long hotel corridors the image of those twin girls always pop into mind. The original trailer for the film was spooky. http://youtube.com/watch?v=0n0mnpHZj_0 | One of my favourite movies..I love the background music. Each and every musical segment is brilliant. |

| | | I have such a thing for Jack Nicholson in that film... which comletely over-comes any fear.
It's the sound that gets me, the little boy on his bike with those wheels going wooden floor, carpet, wooden floor, carpet, wooden floor... TWINS! The change in sound builds the suspense. It's horrible.
The kid's evil, with his power and sightings, Jack's just a grumpy old man & we see that every day.
Love the bunny version. |

| | | best thing is the guy who spend ages trying to get to th overlook hotel only to get axed in the chest as soon as he turns up (similar to the cop in misery who finally figures what's going on only to turn up and be shot)
also the barman. the barman is the fidgets

I'm sure i've read that Steven King said it was the movie adaptation he was the least happy with not sure how true that is. |

| | | First I have to say that "normal" scary doesn't get me. The gore, violence, eerie... whatever. It's blasé. (<-queer)
The part of The Shining that freaked me out the most is when Shelly Duval runs up the stairs towards the end and she turns to look down a hallway. In a room at the end is a guy in a dog costume with his head in his "master's" crotch. Then they both turn to look at Duval.
I know that scene caused some kind of brain anuerism. |

| | | I was 15 when I saw IT and I was so frightened I wouldn't say the word 'it' for months. I became so elloquent because trying to talk without saying 'it' at all is really hard. Thank god for now understanding the reality/fantasy thing. When i was younger I had trouble distinguishing between fear and reality. |
