I hear ya... I liked it though. As for the Halle Berry thing, that was trying way too hard - the Daniel Craig out-of-the-sea homage was far more subtle - I really loved it.
And was that Richard Branson being frisked in the airport?

| | | I haven't seen it yet but I was really opposed to the idea of Daniel Craig as the next Bond. However, seeing the trailer and promo pics has totally changed my mind. The guy is fucking hot in a less conventional kind of way.

I loved the movie. I'm a long time Bond fan so I was quite happy that this one wasn't too gimicky in any way. It was gritty and I loved it. Craig plays more of a cold, asshole Bond than the other dark and charming ones. If you have read any of the books you'll realize that Craig got him spot on. My dad has read the books and in the first five minutes of the film where Bond was beating the shit out of a guy he went "Now THAT'S Bond." He has always had a problem with Bond being far too suave in the movies because it went against how the character was originally written. This Bond had charisma and all but he played a guy who you knew would and could kill you in a whim. I thought the romance got a bit long winded in parts but it didn't take away from how cool the movie ended up being as a whole.
at any rate Craig has my vote and I can't wait for the next Bond movie due out in 2008. |

| | I saw it last night & that was good! Seriously, if you compare it to "Die another day" it seems like a joke. I liked Pierce Brosman but David Craig is totally an awesome James Bond, he reminds me a bit of the classy Sean Connery- Bond time.
There wasn't some many gadjets besides the car, the whole thing were a few guns and Bond's fights. Also, Eva Green was a good choice.
Casino Royale is such a good surprise, Bonds' films had became like too much: too much fights, too many girls...a whole non senses and now it's back. The whole deal is very interesting, it's about his ego problem and...poker lol.
The generic and the song fit well.
My favorite James Bond ever |

| | I just saw it and LOVED it! It's so refreshing to actually be attracted to a Bond and not just have to pretend . Craig is my kind of Bond- big and rough and beat up in a tux. Those eyes were to die for.
I thought the storyline of his affair was very interesting since it showed why Bond never let himself get close to women.
I didn't like the actress who played Vesper, though. I thought she was completely boring- and a sidenote, whoever did her makeup overdid it. But, really, that was the only bit of the movie I didn't like.
The baddie was excellent- weeping blood and looking greasy, I love it! They're getting back into the kitchy sort of villains.
I hated the song when I first heard it, but now that I've seen it in the context of the movie I really like it. The melody is pretty catchy. I loved the credits. It reminded me of the animation in the Beatles' Yellow Submarine, which I am partial to.
Anyway, it's great to be back into Bond. I hope they keep Craig for a long time. |

A Bond movie with three-dimensional characters? Fantastic ... I wish they'd make more like this. |

sadly no, but Craig said that [if the writers called for it] he'd do a full frontal scene or even a gay sex scene. This is what the Bond series has needed....good writing and an actor willing to show his cock. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
