How Season Five of Beverly Hills 90210 should have happened

It went to shit at that point anyway, and could have learned a lot from Melrose Place.

*Brenda returns from London, and begins auditioning for roles in LA. The Walshes disapprove, as she announces she won't be returning to CU. She moves into the beach apartment with Kelly & Donna, taking over David's room. Its revealed Brenda has become accustomed to the casting couch and has even found herself a sugar daddy to make ends meet. Her main challenges will be keeping this life and her relationship with Dylan separate.

*Valerie, who arrived during the summer and was only going to stay a few weeks, decides to stay the year. She moves into Brenda's vacant room and is clearly obsessed with being just like her. Like everybody else, Val is unaware Brenda isn't as wholesome as she once was. Upon finding out, she tries to blackmail her. Val also attempts to seduce the most important men in Brenda's life; Dylan, Brandon, Jim Walsh. She suceeds with Mr. Walsh (in one shocking scene she makes him call her "Brenda" as they're having sex) and Cindy Walsh eventually finds out about the affair.

*Andrea's baby dies; feeling that the Lord has punished her for her sins (pre-marital sex, considering abortion, impure thoughts about Brandon), Andrea becomes a bornagain Christian and becomes increasingly unhinged. She goes to Grandma Rose's home to convince the woman to give up Judaism; when Rose refuses, Andrea lashes out at her and disowns her once beloved grandmother. In another scene, Jesse tries to comfort his wife with a little tenderness. Andrea freaks out, hissing at him for sinful thoughts and warns him to never touch her again. One storyline will find Andrea attempting to castrate her husband. Her insanity should be revealed gradually though, so when she attempts to murder the entire gang in the season finale, it's still fresh.

*Donna, still hurt from David cheating on her, decides to lose her virginity to Steve. At first he's reluctant (as he's had much hotter, but also because of the friendship), but finally gives into her. Afterwards, David walks in and finds them together in bed. He attacks Steve, but Donna manages to break it up. She reveals she planned for David to find them, and was just using Steve. After having sex, Donna develops a taste for it and becomes a nymphomaniac. At one point she seduces Nat just for the hell of it. Plots will deal with her S&M relationship with Ray Pruit. To prove the show hasn't totally lost touch with real issues, one very special 90210 will deal with Donna nearly dying from auto-erotic strangulation.

*Dylan, having lost all his money, hits the bottle. At some point in the season he finds out Jim Walsh was involved with the scam to get his money. He gets back together with Brenda, but is unaware of her secret life.

*Brandon & Kelly have become a couple. These two are pretty boring, and they're role will basically be interacting with their now fucked up group of friends. Andrea feels it's her duty to purify Kelly for all the men she was with in high school.
And as Andrea masturbated many a night away to thoughts of Brandon, she seems him as a symbol of her own impurity and plans to kill him.

*After the Donna/Steve incident, David dies for the sake of a cheap early season cliffhanger. He gets back into drugs and OD's. Who cares, just get him out of the way.
