| | | omg the saw III poster so I went to the movies today and I was horrified at the sight of the SAW III poster, a disturbing close up of a mouth of a person obviously being tortured, with three missing teeth.
It just triggered my OCD beyond control, I was really upset. I don't have a problem with such type of films, I don't like them but I guess they have the right to exist, but to have such a explicit poster hanging around for everyone to see, from children to adults and everyone, I think it's wrong. I don't want to see that type of imagery so why should I be forced to see it?? it's hanging on the cinema with absolutely no warning, I think it's wrong.
I think the fact that such an explicit poster got issued is a warning, a sign of a totally new low of permissiveness for violence in our world.
I can't believe Brokeback mountain caused so much controversy and was banned in places and movies like SAW are received with open arms by everyone. It makes me wonder, what world are we living in?¿? it's insane. |

It was of Heath Ledger's torn rectum, and looked almost like that Saw 3 poster.
No, but wtf... "We're done herding the sheep... what do we do now?" "Lets explore our sexuality! <cue porno music>"
That is not art. Saw III is obviously not only successful, but brings that type of film noir to the United States that's been missing since Polanski-type films. It's not surprising that the first one started out on a ridiculously low budget by practically an independent film company. |

You are comparing Saw to Polanski? give me a break. | Why, because you're such an *ahem* high class, ho? Don't hate on a movie poster because that person can give a better gum-job than you can.
Re-read my post, illiterate ho. I did not compare Saw to Polanski. |

You think SAW is film noir? why? | It isn't, but if we're going to have any originality in films [which I doubt the third installment will], we might as well have a taste of what some genuinely good films in the past have become well-known for, even if we have to compromise and settle for the 2006 version. I'd see that over another period piece like Marie fucking Antoinette, even if I like Dunst.
And whether you buy your Valtrex online, in a back alley from a drug dealer, or at Bergdorf's, you're still a fucking ho. "High class ho" is a contradiction in terms. Just sayin'... |

that poster doesn't gross me out as much as the saw II poster did, with the fingernails. but it is pretty gross. still, it's a horror movie. what do you expect, a poster with rainbows and flowers?

this is what I mean. If I had seen that as a child it would've given me nightmare. |

this is EXACTLY what I'm talking about, we are desensitised and I think it's pathetic. |

I don't do any type of drugs, but maybe I should be on medication.
I know HighClassHo is a contradiction in terms, that's the point. |

| | | It doesn't bother me, but in a way I wish it did. I'm so desensitised to that sort of violent image.
But yeah...I wouldn't like to have seen that as a kid. Kids are tough though. They get over stuff. |

I've been forever traumatized by some footage of a man bleeding out of his mouth that was shown on television when the US invaded Panama.
I'm not saying it's the same thing but this imagery could cause a negative impact on a child.
All I'm saying is that I don't think it's right for such a poster to be desplayed for EVERYONE to see, even adults. Why should I be forced to see it??
the poster for hostal, it's not explicit, it's almost even classy considering what a gross movie it is. That I agree with. |

| | | saw does have film noir elements to it, which is what i think books ablaze was trying to say. it may not be classed as a film noir but it certainly has elements of the genre within it.
if you're going to censor a film poster, where do you stop. it's just ridiculous. it's a poster, and it's not that bad by any stretch of the imagination. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | |
