Best TV Show Theme Songs/Music

i've had the fucking step-by-step theme stuck in my head all day.
"we'll make it bett-ah, the second time around, shoo-be-do bah-bah dah!"
wait.. maybe that's full house?

the other one i really adore is the one that goes:
"would you like to swing on a star (woha, oh, oh)
carry moonbeams home in a jar (woha, oh, oh)
you'd be better off where you are (woah, oh, oh)
you could be stranded here on earth....!"

it's from some early 90's girl-teen sitcom about a girl i think named something with an L, and how her dad was an alien who talked to her through a crystal. she could freeze time by touching the tips of her index fingers together.

hmm.. i also have, comitted to memory, a number of PokeRaps, which my younger brother was obsessed with and always tried to memorize, but is way to ADD. so i, in my infinate 13 year old wisdom, memorized them all really easily and then sung them in his face, just to torment.

oh and it's it just the icing on the cupcake that the theme to House MD is a massive attack song? perfection.

p.s. my dream job is writing TV themes.

your favourites are??

I learnt to play the Pokemon theme last summer. Boo-yah.

Remember Animorphs? VR Troopers? Even the fucking Power Rangers theme was better than half the crap there is these days.

It's all about badly translated kid's tv theme tunes.

oh yeah-Sanford & Son had a wicked harmonica!

Seems like many shows nowadays don't have theme songs at all. I can tell
you Orchestral, that Full House was one of the worst of all time! "Shew-be
doo-waaa" OMG that was terrible

I would say my fave is "Those Were the Days" from All in the Family. Edith
really tried to hit those high notes...

I really liked the My So-Called Life theme tune...it's dumb but i hear it now and i'm just transported back to '94 <3333

Otherwise:

The Sopranos
Round The Twist (crazy Aussie kids show that i loved!)
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Blossom
That 70's Show
Saved By The Bell and California Dreams (or whatever the hell it was called..."Surf dudes with attitudes...kinda groovy!" = so fricking cheesy!!!

That's for starters...

the ethereal initial theme for the felicity was so beautiful. but then they changed it.

Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, I'm gonna say Barney Miller.

I haven't the vaguest idea what show you mean, but that's an old Bing Crosby song. Sounds like they might have changed the words a little, but it's Swinging On A Star .

No, that song repeated "she's a small wonder" throughout it.

So my favorite theme show song that I haven't seen mentioned is the Moonlighting theme. It's not because I really like the song, but just because I love that show.
