Hi Y'all,
So the new season of ?AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL? cycle 7 starts on Wednesday,
September 20th. I can't wait. You'll see some major changes. First of all, the
biggest change is that ?Top Model? is no longer on UPN. In fact, there is no more
UPN at all. That network is now called ?The CW.? So you may have a hard time trying
to find ?Top Model? on Wednesday. It comes on at 8 p.m. (7 central), so make sure to
find it.
Guess what else is on Wednesday, September 20th??? A reunion of the cycle 6 girls
will be on ?The TYRA SHOW!!!? You'll see what all the girls are up to, what the
winner Danielle is doing and how Joanie is dealing with her teeth makeover. You also
gotta find out which girl I didn't want kicked off the show, but I got out voted.
And we all remember Jade. Who could forget her? I ask her how she feels about her
rep now that ?Top Model? cycle 6 is over. I also give a never-before-seen sneak peek
at the new ?Top Model? house, and reveal a big secret that has been going on since
cycle 1 that I have never told ANYONE!!!
You'll see a lot of new stuff on the new season of ?Top Model.? For one, the posters
and ads are very different. In the past, we?ve gone with a very strong theme. The
girls were fairies on the cycle 6 poster and they were all blinged out in gold in a
jewelry box for the cycle 5 poster. The cycle 4 poster had them under water, and
cycle 3's poster showcased the girls hanging on a scaffold over a New York City
skyline. This new season, I wanted to pull back from the tricks and gimmicks. I
wanted the posters to look more like a high fashion magazine. So we simplified the
whole thing. No tricks, no gimmicks, no girls in boxes or underwater. They are all
just standing or sitting fiercely on a hip looking set. And for the first time, I am
on the poster. I feel like the mama surrounded by all of my babies.
We also changed the main titles of the show. Main Titles are the images and music
you see when a show starts. It's where we list all of the girls' names and play the
theme song. These new main titles are the HOTNESS!!! The girls look fab and the
music is remixed. It's way more high fashion now. Hope you like it.
Every season of ?ANTM? (America's Next Top Model), we go to another country. It's
important to me that the girls experience other cultures because, as a model, you
have to travel the world and adapt to new places, people, food, languages and
customs. ?ANTM? has already gone to Paris, Milan, Tokyo, South Africa, London and
Thailand. For the new season, we go to a totally different place. I can't tell you
where we go, but it was a gorgeous country. I was really homesick though. I was
going through lots of drama and really just wanted to cry on my mama's shoulder, but
I was soooo far away from home. I was going through man and work drama. Heartbreak
is some serious pain, man! Whoa! It's crazy because you want the pain to just go
away, but when you think you are feeling strong, the pain just creeps back up to
you. I had some great friends and coworkers that helped me get through it though.
And once you finally get through it (and yes, you DO get through it), you look back
at the person you were crying over and realize they were never meant to be the ONE, and they really weren't worth practically losing your mind over. But you know how it is...
I'm glad I am feeling better than ever now though, and I thank him for the pain he
caused me. I have come to realize that whenever I go through tough times and harsh
pain, it makes me stronger for the guests that come on my talk show. I can feel WITH
my guests because I understand the hurt. I may not have gone through exactly what
they are going through, but pain is pain is pain.
It was really hard for me to stay strong for my ?Top Model? girls while I was sooo
stressed out, but I held it together, I think. When you watch ?Top Model? this
season, check me out when we go overseas. See if you can tell that I was sad, or if
I was good at covering it up. I'm OK now but at the time, I was a wreck.
Do any of you have any ideas where the ?ANTM? crew should go for cycle 8 of ?Top
Model?? We don't start filming that for a while, but I will read your suggestions
and maybe you can help me decide where we should take the girls. It has to be a
country that has a fashion industry - modeling agencies and designers. Send your
ideas. You know I'll read 'em!
