but really, i can't believe roger avary wrote that script. the script is crap, and the acting is pretty bad too. the only avary-esque moment in the entire thing is when rose wakes up after being attacked by the uh... fire children (?lolz) and the jukebox is playing that johnny cash song. hilarious.
buttt, it was gross. it was really, really gruesome and freaky. the effects when the darkness hit in that bathroom scene, and the "janitor" came out of the bathroom stall. god, that's the most awesome thing i've ever seen.
god i lovvvee silent hill.

| | | Also, Nightmare on Elm Street is being shown in select theaters over the next two days. Go to fandango.com to see if it's playing near you! |

| | | question I wanted to know what's your "criterias" for a horror movie?
Is it just "scary or not"? Originality? Artistic values (if there are...)? Other? |

Anyway, i like horror movies, even pretty shitty ones cause im easy to scare...
But of course good ones are always better, the ones that really haunt you!
I would recommend these:
The Tale Of Two Sisters (really weird, it made me all confused, very twisted)
The Last Horror Movie (ok it isnt traditional horror really, and the name is a joke you have to see the film to get it )
The Cube (maybe not horror actually, but a classic)
Dark Water (original, i know little ghost girl is a huge cliché but i like this one more that The Ring fo example) | the cube is great!! |

I went and rented this because of you. I have picked it up in the vid store a couple of times. I always put it back though. So, I am off to watch this movie now.
I hate campy horror movies. That try to be funny. I mean the first Nightmare on Elm Street was great. But, when they tried to make Freddy a standup comedian, it just sucked. |

the little girl in the Japanese one scared the shit out of me. Especially in the elevator scene near the end. |

"nosferatu" and "28 days later" are the only horror movies that have really terrified me. "shadow of the vampire" gave me the creeps, but that's because of its ties to "nosferatu"
