| | | taste. this looks good. part from the leo bit.
children of men looks/sounds awesome, but...
the 'memorable quote' from the movie is horrible:
"I can't really remember when I last had any hope, and I certainly can't remember when anyone else did either. Because really, since women stopped being able to have babies, what's left to hope for? |

| | uh...bump?
i finally got around to seeing it. if anyone want to discuss. i couldnt find the other thread that i actuallly replied in before...anyway
i was really really surprised how similar it was to the original film it was based on. at one point i was like oh shit i know exactly whats gonna happen...
but it was very class, awesome editing choices/ use of flashback. scorsese loves his weaving thing, no wonder, he's so damn good at it.
i kind of liked leo in gangs of new york. i really liked him in the aviator. i loved him in this. he really worked for me. i'm no leo-tard, i was always kind of objective about him. this was perfect for him. |

| | oh yeah, and i wanted to say i really liked vera farmiga in it as well. ive only seen her in running scared, which i thought she was one of the best things about. i can see how scorsese saw her and thought she belonged in one of his movies, haha.
come to think of it, running scared was like a more over the top, less complicated, more hyper stylized version of the departed. although not even nearly as good, it's still worth a watch. i wont give it away, but her most important scene in that film is rad.
btw- marky mark's hair in this one? um, NOOOOOOO. lol, WHAT a distraction! haha. my only real complaint |

haha he's in a scorsese film, but he'll never get away from it he needs to stop fightign it and have the best of both worlds.

I still haven't gotten around to seeing this movie. I backed off of Scorsese's new movies. The bit of the Aviator I saw was crap, and I skipped Gangs completely. But this one seems to be better than both of those and is more like his older (good) movies of the hot men carrying guns in suits to good music genre. So I think I'll definately have to rent it.
