| | The Devil Wears Prada the promos have just started in aussieland... has it been released in the states yet? and if so, has anybody seen it and read the book?
the trailers don't really look like they've got the book captured properly... was the movie like the book? in the trailers, miranda engages andrea in much more conversation, rather than just giving orders and abuse...
either way, i'm looking forward to it for some light entertainment. |

I really enjoyed it
in the way I really enjoyed Clueless all those years ago
It's nothing groundbreaking, but I enjoy watching pretty people wear pretty clothes |

| | | omg I can't believe you get the movies like 3 months after Panama. You are way behind.
personally, I LOVED the movie. I haven't read the book, but the movie I loved.
It's a movie for everyone but the fashion geeks like me are just going to get an extra kick out of it. I skipped a heartbeat everytime Miranda mentioned a photographer or when Gisselle Bundchen was on screen, or Galiano or whatever. |

She admitted she had trouble trying to act in BrokeBack despite she didnt have a huge part. We know you cant REALLY act Anne... |

| | saw it yesterday and it was ok
i saw too many making of's and promo's that i already saw all the funny scenes, i hate it when that happens
meryl streep was good but i thought she would be SO much bitchier than she was in the movie. and why 'the assistant' never punched her or whatever is beyond me.
they should've done a scene where anne hathaway(sp>) slammed meryls head through a glass table in her imagination a la 'monster in law' with jlo and jane fonda
the soundtrack was cool btw |

the movie could've been a bit edgier there should've been more bitchiness, more nudity and more champagne and blow. it felt like a disney movie or something |

| | | i didn't like the casting of anne hathaway. it would have helped if the lead had a semblance to a soul. anne looks so patented america's sweetheart shit. and she's not half as interesting as the others touted as such. wrong choice for a lead.
meryl, though, is brilliant. she's just so cold and bitchy in the role and the moments when the ice melts away don't come off as sentimental bullshit.
overall, the film is just nice, confection but smart. |

| | | I loved Anne Hathaway, she had my sympathy all along.
I loved the parts where Miranda would show feelings. like when she fights with her husband, the divorce, etc. It makes you realize she's just a human being, yet she has this demanding job and I guess her human condition must be a nuissance for her. |

Obviously nobody gives a fuck about the Panamanian market. |
