| | | Candy With Abbie Cornish and Heath Ledger
Your thoughts?
I felt like this film had been done before, sort of.
I didn't have as much of an emotional response to it as I thought I would. I also didn't think that the co-dependence of the relationship was developed enough, but as I write that I think maybe I might have completely over looked something/. |

| | mother greer, we have to talk movies sometime
i really liked candy, though i never read the book. heroin movies are becoming an overdone fad, but of all the australian movies i have evr seen this was the most beautifully made. i thought the acting was good, and i thought it was fairly emotional, i just kind of sympathised with the idea that one person can unwittingly fuck the other over. it was more to earth than say, the basketball diaries etc.
OH- and it had noni hazelhurst in it. back to the days when i was a 4year old |

| | | i read the book, and enjoyed it a lot. but i haven't seen the movie yet. i talked to a lady from THINK films (who produced this movie), one day at work, and she said that they have got a lot of compliments on how well the movie suits the book. but...being that i haven't seen it, does it follow the book pretty good? |

| | | I watched this last night whilst drunk which i wouldnt recommend. Its not as powerful as say "requiem for a dream", but it moved me.
Abbie Cornish was pretty great. She looks like Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts' love child though.
It was like a mix of Basketball diaries & Mad Love.
And "Mother Greer" I love Candy's poem too.
