HI
KR,
i'm fostering this puppy for a group called Copper's Dream Rescue.
he was abandoned on a street in shitty Bakersfield about 2 months ago, and was taken off of doggie death row on wednesday, and shipped up north to Copper's Dream.
this is a little about him. if you're interested, send me a message.
but know that to adopt him you have to fill out all the paper work and get screened with the rescue group, not me. they're willing to ship him in the west coast.
so anyone from california, oregon, washington, nevada, arizona, etc is eligible.
Meet Zilla (short for Godzilla), a 3 month old male pit-mix puppy. Zilla is about 30 lbs and has darling floppy ears, a short black coat, white paws and cute white blaze on his chest. He is a big cuddler and enjoys curling up on the couch when he's not romping and chasing his friends at the dog park. He is currently being fostered with an 8 month old bloodhound mix and a cat and interacts very politely with the cat, and shows great social skills with the dog.
However, Zilla was dealt a rather hard hand before being picked up by Copper's Dream, and he carries some baggage as a result. Zilla becomes VERY submissive when scared or confused, and will drop to the ground and shake pretty seriously and refuse to move. His list of 'scary things' is starting to decrease however, and he will now walk through doorways without the kind of episode mentioned above. But, he is still very scared of: some male strangers, crowds, loud noises, yelling or loud/aggressive voices, stairs, jumping or climbing on/off of things (like into/out of a small car or the sofa), and is very food submissive and will only eat if no other animals or humans are near his food, even then, he eats very cautiously -- if his eating is interrupted he usually won't finish that meal, no matter how much time passes, and will wait for the next one.
But, Zilla is INCREDIBLY willing to learn and LOVES to please -- we were able to potty train him, get him to be comfortable with doors/gates, and teach him how to socialize well enough to go to the dog park (30+ dogs), all in 2 days. He's the most responsive dog I've ever met. He has SO MUCH potential, and is very gentle with kids.
