also, consider getting an older cat, cause if you get one kitten, i think it is a bit cruel to leave it alone as much as you will be doing

maybe get a cool old lap cat, whose mummy or daddy has croaked or gone to an old people's farm - that way they'll be trained already

and definitely get insurance

and take lots of pics

Older cats rule!

I think it's a good idea to get an older cat if you're not going to be home a lot. Kittens need as much attention/socialization as possible.

my cousin has three kittens he's trying to get rid of. anyone in the toronto area?

Especially because soooo many people go to shelters looking for kittens, not as many for the old guys.

this is what i did. my cat was 5 years old when i got her and she's just as spry as a kitten. that and kittens get adopted out so easily. not so much for the older ones.
