we just got my dog from the humane society about 10 months ago and i have had no reason to take him to the vet thus far

but now he is sick and needs to go. Today.

and I don't know who to take him to.
How do you decide? I am just flipping through the yellow pages

My only friends with a dog treats hers like children and takes them to a specialty clinic that is probably nicer than the doctor's office I GO TO and I dont have money for that. I want him taken care of, but I don't need to send him to a spa. he just needs some doggy advil or whatever.







*and before everyone goes apeshit i know you arent supposed to give dogs advil

search online for vet clinics in your area and call
ask questions: fees, etc.

When I got one of my cats fromthe SPCA I asked about what vet was reasonably priced and they told me. You can always call them to see if they know.

they're all over the country. it's a chain, no frills, but it's a good starter vet. bonus is that they're walk-in (at least the ones by me)

Otherwise I went to mine bc that's where we've always taken our pets and its highly regarded.
