the vet cut the thread off the back of his tongue and pulled it...it broke and he sent our cat home, telling us to call and let him know how it all worked out.
For two days we have been using a syringe to give him pedialyte mixed with chicken broth or gravy from a small can of canned Friskies meat for cats. i give him 10 ccs every 10 minutes if he isn't looking good, otherwise every half hour. He has vomited three times during the last two days, the last time he used the litter box immediately after and had diarhea that looked and smelled exactly like the green dark vomit. We are afraid the vet damaged his bowels by pulling the string...especially since we opened the exam room door as he was telling a coworker he would cut the string off the back of his tongue to "pacify the owners".
We're afraid that means he is going to die and we just had a cat 10 years old die suddenly from a blocked urethra last Christmas. This cat is only 8 months old but as he is a maine coon looks huge. We are all devastated and I am very very tired.
I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow at 10 am. If I am going to stay up all night I need more information on the chances of our cat making it once he has begun throwing
tkjbs@hotmail.comup the feces. We figured originally if we kept
himtkjbs@hotmail.com hydrated for a few days the thread would disintegrate and his bowels would be ok. Does anyone have any experience once the thread has caused this kind of reaction? Please respond Quickly, it is much, much MUCH appreciated.
