| | | I have about 20 more little babies! Now I have about 35 of them. They are orange, white, brown, grey, black, silver, and some of them are transparent. |

| | I figured out why I'm having trouble getting the biological filter to work. Quote:
The biological filter removes ionized ammonia, and, provided it
works efficiently, does so to the extent that free ammonia is virtually
undetectable. It is often overlooked that free ammonia is toxic to
nitrifying bacteria and that high ammonia concentration is a major
cause of difficulty in establishing a biological filter.

Ammonia Management
If for instance, I were to remove the fish from my tank to another tank and let the tank run empty the free ammonia would kill the biological filter. |

i dont know if i should get a male betta or not. i hear they dont bother anyone but other male bettas. | I noticed the fish are more civilized if they aren't fed as they like. |

They remind me of wood peckers because they go about pecking all around the tank most of the day. I lost four of them. I found 2 of them all rotten in the bottom of the tank. One of them pureed and stuck to the back of the filter. One of them fell out of the filter when I turned it off. One of them got stuck in the gravel against the glass and I rescued it. I thought it was going to die so I put it in a floating box with some food. I guess it was near starved to death. It hardly looked like a fish anymore. It looked like a head with a piece of thread on it. It's been munching up food for half a day and now it's swimming around and around. |

| | | My starved baby molly is skimming the top of the tank for food now instead of the bottom so I guess it's not going to die. |
