Help me decide...

Which should I choose?

Dry food:

Purina Cat Chow
Lots of people I know feed their cats this and it seems like all of the cats love it.

OR

Eukanuba Chicken/Rice
I keep hearing good things about Eukanuba - but that's all I know.

and canned food?

Fancy Feast Variety Pack
I know kitties love Fancy Feast.

OR

Castor and Pollux Organix
Costs a little more, but it's organic and apparently very high quality.

Fenris is an unknown quantity at this point
Dry foods can cause kidney problems in later life. Far better to feed natural foods than proprietary brands. Look at the recalls of foods that have been contaminated in the US. At least if you prepare your own human qulaity food you know what has gone into it.

Ingredients: Beef, Lamb, Chicken, Pork, Finely Ground Beef Bones, Beef Liver, Egg, Cultured Kefir, Broccoli, Celery, Spinach, Carrot, Ground Flax Seed, Bok Choy, Dried Alfalfa Meal, Beef Kidney, Unbleached Beef Tripe, Apple, Pear, Grapefruit, Orange, Dried Kelp Powder, Cod Liver Oil, Garlic Capsicum, Vitamin E Supplement, Zinc Oxide, Manganous Oxide.

This is the only thing I feed my pets. Except from perhaps the organ meat, wouldn't you eat all those things? I would only give my pets something I would eat myself (if I liked tripe that is).

(PS mine is for dogs, but they make it for cats too)

i'm pretty sure eukanuba was on the recall list even though its a higher end product
i would say fancy feast though for wet
my moms cat is extremely picky and he likes that stuff
i know its not on the recall list either

Hrm. That's crappy. I didn't remember Eukanuba being on the list - and after you said that I went and looked. You're right.

I like Cat Chow anyway - and I'll look into the Barf, Ursula - thanks. ;-)

I remember my grandmother used to feed her cat Fancy Feast (and I've read reviews...seems lots of cats like it). I haven't been feeding anything other than dry food because when you have 20+ cats (country home), it's too expensive to do wet food too - but since we're moving into a new apartment and taking two with us, I want to spoil them.
