my cat is staying with my friend for a week :(

and im sad. im also afraid he is going to think i dont love him or want him and he'll try to run away at her place. my aunt is coming into town and she is highly allergic so he cant be here when she is. to top it off he's had to stay outside for the past two days so the dander can clear out.
how will a cat generally react to the trauma of not being allowed inside his own home and then having to go stay with some one else for a week? will his personality change?

maybe if he's kept in doors he cant run away?
His personality wont change and he'll remember you when you come back to collect him. A week or two isnt that long. Ive had to do it do my dogs before and she's wayyyyy clingier than a cat. In fact she barked the whole time in the kennels. But your cat is at a home, which will make him feel better.

og shit!
Give him your sock!
To keep with him in his bed over there.
The smell of their owner in a piece of clothing reassures them that their owner's around.
It works for dogs, it might for cats?!??!?

please say he's not gone already!!!!!

awwww. it'll be ok. my cat was left alone several times and I moved with her (20 hour on a plane and such. 2 hours in a car.....when we got here there were like 50 people waiting for me and she got so scared) I felt terrible and thought she'd never be okay again and she'd be so traumatized, but she's really ok now.
she really clings to me though. she follows me around and makes it very clear to me that she doesn't like it when I leave the house; when I get home she's always waiting for me by the door and the minute I sit down she gets onto my lap and stays there for hours.
she also sleeps curled up against my belly every night. she's my baby.

your cat will be ok

If you keep him inside for a few days when you get him back he'll be fine.
I left my cat with my grandparents when i went away for 2 weeks and she was fine and loved me just the same when she came home
