Updates.. and breech quesiton..

So, who's still hanging around here waiting for the due date to come??

I will be glad to have this pregnancy over, in mid to late December! It's been pretty rough, with some physical problems. I guess I have about 6- weeks to go unless something comes up.

I am starting to worry that this baby is breech! She feels completely way different in the positions and way she kicks, than my first one did, and the doctor can't feel that she's head down like she's supposed to be before too long. I knew at this point last time my baby was head down and actually it was only a week or two from now that she had dropped, so I knew for a long while that she was dropped, head down, and in the right birth position. I am so scared of c-sections and I have several reasons to think this baby is breech, the OB is starting to think about doing ultrasound to check. I'm due Dec 31 and actually, measuring closer to Dec 27-28....if the baby is breech the OB is going to want to schedle a c-section delivery if we can't get her moved. I'm scared! And also, then, if I have to negotiate a due date, I don't know what to do, I'm told they usually want to schedule it early enough where you won't chance going into labor so it probably will mean delivering 2-3 weeks before my due date. At 37 weeks I'd be considered full term, meaning not premature birth. This would be around December 7-9th. So I'm probably looking at having to deliver 2 weeks before Christmas.

Has anyone here had a breech baby?? How soon did you know it was breech and how long did your OB leeave the situation alone waiting for the baby to move??

my 2nd baby turned breech at 39 weeks and then turned back again a few days later, was born head first at 41 weeks with no problems at all, pretty easy labour actually. so don't panic, you've still got tonnes of time for baby to get head down. also, with subsequent babies they don't tend to drop and engage until much closer to labour and they are usually more able to turn around if you've already had one baby since the muscle tone of the uterus will be slightly weaker.

there are plenty of things you can do to encourage baby to turn, i did everything i could so i couldn't say which was effective, i'll post some links in a minute...

when i was looking at the possibilty of having to give birth to a breech baby my midwife told me that since i'd had a baby before they would let me try a vaginal birth if i wanted because there are less risks/unknowns but i think that's something everyone has to assess for themselves since c-section is by no means risk free. at least you have plenty of time to research your options

good luck, and i'll send baby turning vibes your way

these are the links i collected at the time:

they are quite midwife/homebirth biased because that's what i had but hopefully they will be of some help/reassurance to you. i remember how scared and upset i was when my baby was breech so i can imagine how you are feeling, just know that you do still have plenty of time and everything will be just fine.

Thanks for the links! If I still had my account, I'd rep you!

I can't believe how much pressure there is in my lower stomach, and my right hip feels like it's on fire. I just feel so much physically worse with this pregnancy than #1, it's amazing. I just realized that I'm actually 33 weeks, not 32, I keep losing track this time because I'm so busy. That's a little relief because at least the end is a little nearer than I thought.
