| | | My son is obsessed with Christmas videos I think its all the visuals- the reindeers, the elves, all the presents. Hes not old enough to understand it (he'll be two in August) but hes become completely hung up on these films. I tried to get him to come outside with me this morning and he stood in the doorway with the Bob the Builder Christmas Video in hand and pleaded, "Cook -Cook, Cook -Cook!" (His code for "I want to watch a movie." Cook- Cook stems from Cookie Monster, and we have a lot of Sesame Street videos).
As I said he will be two. What were your children obsessed with at this age? Also, what do you thinks is a normal, healthy amount of video watching for a child his age?

Hes the first grandchild, so he gets a lot of presents anyway. I think if anything stuck out to him those past two Xmas's, it was that these gifts were wrapped and under a big indoor tree.
Oh well. Just wondering whats going on in his sweet little head.

| | Hi Pam!
My son just turned 10 and is crazy about trains. He goes to websites where
they show Amtraks and other trains just zooming by and he's fascinated.
He still wants to be a train engineer when he grows up. I'm not sure if there
is a big demand in that career but he will probably change his mind when the
time comes..Love them when they're little. I miss those baby days so much |

| | seth took an interest in videos around 2 1/2. his first favorite was lilo and stitch. he must have watched that one hundred times.
we try and limit his video watching, but we arent very good at it. he spends three days a week outside of the house when i am at home, and two days inside playing games and video watching. weekends when im at work, seth watches videos in the morning and then he and daddy go out for rough housing and swimming. i suspect he watches 16 hours a week. thats like a full waking day. oh lord, we have to cut that down
