Naming babies (and pets) after celebrities

how far is too far?
pets arnt so extreme just a bit of fun (i have a cat peggy lee and a cat luz benedict the 2nd and my uncle named his two dogs deacon and bowie)

i have 2 young cousins hannah mercury may (freddie and brian.-queen) and alice annie taylor (again queen) which is nice but imagine if they were boys, my uncle would have had a field day.ha. has anyone here named a child specifically after a celebrity? i like the name darcy and would name a girl that but generally not as i like the pumpkins, i just think the name is nice.

if i named a girl courtney my friends would give me the crazy fan lecture though.

anyone here done it? surely there has to be a kid out there named clove that belongs to a guilty fan. id do it if i had the guts

naming your children over people not worth being idolized is strange.

if you like the name, it's fine but to purposely do it for that reason isn't exactly normal.

An old friend was going to name her kids Dior & Christian.
