| | | paladin's as much part of the media feeding frenzy as anyone else. If he didn't keep bringing up JonBenet I wouldn't even still be hearing about her. The UK media covered these new development for about two days, once when they first thought they had a suspect and again when they decided he was bullshitting. The media don't cover things that no-one's interested in, so we need to drop the self-righteous crap and admit we're swallowing this crap of their own free will. There's no great mystery here; there was a girl, she was killed. Will we feel any better if the killer is brought to justice? No. |

That's bull.
Am I saying it's right for parents to project perfection (like entering them in beautypagents) onto their kids?
No, not at all, but to say they don't love them is bull.
Unless you know each one of the parents who do this personally, it's only your oppinion that they don't love their kids, and you would be wrong.
Are we now assuming mother Ramsey didn't love JonBenet?
She might have done things I personally wouldn't, but to say she didn't love her daughter is awful. | actions dictate behavior, not hollow words.
we'd have to define what we're speaking of when we say "love" their children.... |

The kind of love one has for their family is not represented by what can be physically observed. There's nothing hollow about words, and actions, in this circumstances, usually result in either spoilt kids or dead-and-buggered ones. |

| | | well, also take into consideration that people from the south have traditions with beauty pagaents and it isnt some thing that makes girls wanna be perfect its more a tradition and a pastime that southerners did and jonbenet was originally from the south. so i dont think it was so much pushing her to be perfect as it was just a fun thing to do.
but i really don't know them personally, so who knows. |
