Now I'd like to preface this by saying that the white population of racists toward black people is a bit out of hand. Statistically.

We have a history here in the US that grants a large group or "told by parents" type folks that believe black people are bad simply because they were raised that way.

Racism, now a-days, in the mainstream, is a quality or attribute, one gives to a GROUP of people based on their ancestral or skin heritage.

The problem with racism is that many people, who are considered racist, take these "group attributes", and refuse to believe that they are not in pertainance to an individual in that group.

That is the "evil" of racism.

Now.. my point is this....

I'll start with an example...

Black people generally vote democrat.

This is racist.

To say that black people generally vote democrat.

Yet. It's true.

It's overwhelmingly true.

This is reality.

They don't vote this way because of the color of their skin.

They vote this way because of their culture.

I always thought racism was discrimination based upon someone's race, often specifically the idea that one race is superior over another.

Statistics can be skewed, but they cannot be racist.

"most blacks vote democrat" isn't racism, but the context in which it is placed is what can make people percieve it as a positive or a negative comment.

If people are off-put by that comment, it could indicate that the Democrats were seen by either or both groups as unfavourable. It could also indicate that the offender had intended to use the comment as an affront.
