i really didnt appreciate the asian insults in this thread my best friend is korean and is moving back to seoul for a year to teach english.she doesnt eat dogs or cats or rats or anything like that or have a dislike for any of them.i know her mother hates cats but she doesnt eat them.

I have no disrespect of Asians. This was just an article from a small Japanese paper. I thought it was interesting.
I do a lot of work in Japan, have a house there and my ex-husband is also Asian. Me and his family are very tight.
I don’t know a lot about other Asian cultures but I do know that Japanese eat horse. I have even had it offered to me on occasion.
Never having tried it, mind you.
But the whole article was something I just never really new about.

it's true that it's a bad idea to do this and it may not be healthy, but all the same animals in the UK were routinely fed bits of other animals, especially cows (which may have led to BSE). so really eating dog isn't a lot different to things considered acceptable in europe

these aren't domesticated animals that are being eaten either, they're bred to be eaten. it's not like they steal their neighbours pets and eat them

also eating horse is acceptable in most of europe. horses, like dogs, are human companians and assistants too.

it's just hypocrisy when people criticise eating dog

yes they are domesticated but some people have domesticated all sorts of animals. I know some one who has a pig as a pet, its domesticated. It comes when you call it, goes outside when it needs to relieve its self and sleeps in the house. Yet its still acceptable to eat bacon.
We find it wrong to eat dogs because society tells us its wrong, people in Korea are not savage because they eat dogs they are just doing what is socially acceptable.
