| | | Can someone explain to me the "threat level" system? Apparently we were on "severe" for about three months, but now we've been moved up a notch to "critical". So is there something I should stop/start doing now? Or is it at best another piece of useless information in my life and at worst a depressingly unimaginative form of scare-mongering on the part of our government?
I'm not so cynical as to think that it's all faked to cover up the government's failings. But I wouldn't be surprised if we get another leaked memo that's just a drawing of lots of press officers rubbing their hands with glee. "Today is a good day to bury bad news" style. |

Does moving from severe to critical actually mean anything in terms of everyday life? |

Does moving from severe to critical actually mean anything in terms of everyday life? | Exactly my point. I mean, should I stay in bed and pull my sheets over my head? Do I run around screaming? Or should I start nailing large pieces of crooked wood to my windows? I just want to know that I'm taking every possible precaution necessary to protect me from something that will definitely happen somewhere at some time before they go back to "severe".
I mean, for serious: how come I didn't know the threat was "severe"? How come I only found out that I was under severe threat when it became critical? I COULD'VE BEEN REPEATEDLY KILLED TO BITS BY TERRORISTS AT ANY POINT DURING THE LAST THREE MONTHS AND I WASN'T EVEN FUCKING INFORMED!!! |

Critical threat level - the highest - means "an attack is expected imminently and indicates an extremely high level of threat to the UK". | pretty self explanatory |

Maybe they should add a bit onto the end of the weather report each day to tell us the threat level. "Chance of rain: 30%, humidity levels: 45%, threat levels: severe, possibly advancing to critical towards early evening." | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | |
