Different countries, different rules... but seriously? This totally should have been handled in a better way.

This part particularly infuriated me. In the human race this would be the equivilent of killing everyone excluding members of the police and the army. Is there not possibility that these dogs also carry rabies? I don't see the Chinese government authoring the elimation of all SARS infectees, because that's just inhumane. Poor dogs can't protest, how convenient. Humans constantly endanger the health of dogs, yet little effort is made to counter-act against this. This is a prime display of the arrogance and hypocrasy in society. The country should should invest in public schemes to address the situation. Would it take too much effort to accumulate all the dogs and iscolate them from the population?

I couldn't stand the "some of the dogs skulls were bashed in, in front of their owners..." part. The whole thing is gross to me and could have been handled so much better.

Why are some countries so fucked up. Why do some not give any animals the respect they deserve? I read an article in Time Magazine that said it was proven that some animals such as dogs and dolphins have emotions.

I guess not, mind doing a report on it for me? At least we don't club them to death. That is a cruel death. I'd rather be put to sleep than have my face smashed in. At least being put to sleep is civil.

All animals have emotions... you don't need a scientist to prove that.

Take that up with TIME magazine then. They thought it was story worthy.

I'd say they can. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to, most veterinarians will even say they can.

Yes, having your face smashed in is much more cruel, but I don't think the US is really a place where animals are treated so wonderfully as many US citizens like to think. And this doesn't even begin to cover the animals raised for food on factory farms.

I didn't think that everything was going to be taken so seriously and people would nit pick at everything I said like I was being graded. I will try to make myself clearer so it doesn't turn into a debate and the focus doesn't get taken away from the poor dogs who died in China.
