Now do you believe in global warming? It was 99 here yesterday and it felt like 111 degrees. Same thing for today!!! Every summer it gets hotter and stays that way longer.

I have always believe in global warming and have been arguing with conservatives about it since I moved to this poor excuse for a state in the end of 1998. Hurrican Katrina wasn't as huge as it was and as deadly as it was just because of "gays, blacks and sinners"...

How can a race cause a storm? That is just nuts.....

I am in Chicago and I can't take it anymore, our seasons are too extreme. When it's cold it's cold and when it's hot it's hot. Spring and Fall don't even exist anymore!

I absolutely believe in global warming, but I'm kind of opposed to people saying, "LOOK HOW HOT IT IS! GLOBAL WARMING AHHHH...." because there are regions that are experiencing colder temperatures as a result of climate change. That is something that I hear from conservatives ALL the time.

I think that most people are really coming to accept global warming as a reality now anyways. Although you still get the people who are holding out and saying things like, "the planet warms and cools naturally" etc. I'm pretty sure they'll be done with that sooner as opposed to later.

Well that's what was being reported on the news channels (mainly FOX) and on websites and stuff when people were asked about their feelings about the storm. Obviously most of the people in this country were broken hearted and trying to do whatever they could do (along with other countries who tried to help as much as they could) - but there were a few morons who came out and said, "I feel it happened because god got mad because of the gays and sinners in New Orleans" - I added black people myself. The slow response was, in my opinion and many others, race related.

I surely hope you're right because I'd rather get this crap taken care of sooner then later.

I haven't actually heard anyone from New Orleans saying that about themselves. It's the other crazy conservatives from other southern states... it's dumb.

Remember, global warming isn't about one day, one week or one season. Its about the long term trend. Its easy for neigh-sayers to dumbly repeat "but its only a day". You have to look at better evidence-- polar ice caps, climate trends over the range of known and reliable data, etc.

Well no, but you did come across as though you felt that the genuine concern and irritation to the slow nature of the rescue was just "them folk trying to find people to point fingers at". It was just worded very weird and on top of that there were actually a lot of "conspiracy theories", who in the very beginning wondered whether or not the storm was influenced - but I don't really believe anyone who is sane felt that a terrorist created a monster storm and sent it directly to New Orleans. I haven't heard that one at least.

I thought you were saying that the folks in N.O. were always looking to point fingers etc., when in reality, the people who made the statements lululauren referred to (about Katrina being the fault of sinners) were in fact made by the pat robertsons of the world, not N.O. people.
