Local resident, Keith Klassen says the flag is a slap in the face to the conservative community of Meade. “To me it's just like running up a Nazi flag in a Jewish neighborhood. "
| WTF. This is seriously retarded stuff. Quote:
Knight says it's not meant to be a gay pride symbol but he doesn't mind if that's how it's taken.
“Any gay or lesbian people that do stop by will be treated with the best service I can give you," says Knight
But despite the local ridicule and loss of business, Knight is determined to stand his ground. “When this rainbow flag shreds, I will buy another one, and another one, and another one - just like my American flag, I'll buy another one."
Knight says his son gave him the flag after a trip to Dorothy's house, a museum about the Wizard of Oz. The flag reminded the boy of "somewhere over the rainbow."
| the bed n breakfast-folks seemed like the nicest guys though. They get my support.
BTW EDIT:
i googled this and i remembered that the flag is altso called Pace-flag which is a symbol for Peace if i remember right.

If the biblical stories of Jesus are true it seems he would have stayed at that hotel. If Homosexuals are sinners wouldn't they be his kind of people? According to the bible he did spend a lot of quality time with sinners. |

I still love the comment from a Texan I was talking to awhile ago that said, "Of course we're proud of [our response to Katrina], because we're the state who has done the most and taken the most people in. Texas is it's own country!" If that wasn't a direct "we're 100 times better than you" comment, I don't know what was.
*vomit*
I feel bad for any decent person living in Texas.

Usually right next to the creationist fish emblom. | I wish that, that was *all* that I saw here in Oklahoma. I have seen them both, generally next to the W'00 and W'04 stickers, as well as "Conservatives support freedom / Liberals support terrorists" stickers. That was my favorite if-I-don't-get-out-of-this-state-soon sticker I'm-going-to-be-forced-to-kill-everyone... |

They're nuts and its kinda scary they would even think of doing such a thing. |

Even though its all fucked up, I give people who are openly bigots and admit it just a little more credit for having the balls to admit it.
But with regards to this particular situation, maybe all the non-bigots who hear about it will stay there when they're in Kansas and it will prove to be a financial windfall for the guy. Too bad no one needs to go to Kansas for anything. |

| | | For our 4th of July barbeque, we hung a rainbow wind-sock in the tree in our front yard. Our choice of windsocks at the store was either that or one w/ an american flag. The same day we hung our windsock, our neighbors flew the rainbow flag in front of their house. That house is owned by two very nice men. Doesn't bother me a bit, and I do not care, if anyone driving down the street thinks our windsock is in support of, or has anything to do with their flag.

| | I love my Long Beach Broadway Corridor, Long Beach, California From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
The Broadway Corridor in Long Beach, California is the name for the stretch of East Broadway between Downtown Long Beach and Belmont Shore where the majority of the city's gay-friendly businesses are located. Nearby 4th Street also has a number of gay-owned businesses and is the location of the Gay and Lesbian Center of Greater Long Beach.
Long Beach has one of the largest gay and lesbian populations in the country. The city's Gay Pride Parade, which goes down nearby Ocean Blvd., is the second largest in the United States, and is the second largest event in Long Beach after the Long Beach Grand Prix. Driving down Broadway it is not uncommon to see rainbow flags dangling out of the windows of homes and businesses. |

Mine mainly comes from the fat rednecks here who like picking at their belly buttons while licking their lips and eyeing you. The whole "you're a woman, you should want to hump my bones" look. :shiver, twitch:
However there is also the issue with the crazy people (mainly men in SUVs and pickups) who fly down the road and glare at you because you're a woman, screwing up the wonderful "rules of the road"... or whatever... |

He said that since this story has come out that it's calmed down some, but that someone wrote stuff all over his car today and that he's been getting hateful emails from people. I asked what happened with the car and he just said that they just wrote stuff and that it "wasn't that big of a deal" and he's "seen worse". So wow... that's really sad, but I told him to keep going with it and that not everyone is that crazy. |
