every human is also an animal (a mammal)…. as animals we are reactively driven by biological urges crafted specifically for the spread of our genetic code, adapted to the ecological niche of our ancestors…..so to speak…

one major reason why we choose to follow our biological drives is because we feel pleasure and avoid pain when we do so…. in our usage, pleasure refers to the gratification of biological urges….

animals in the wild follow their urges: they eat when hungry, sleep when tired, and engage in sex when in heat, for example…….as animals we feel discomfort when we have an urge that is unsatisfied (hunger, tiredness, horniness) and pleasure when those drives have been satisfied….

collectively, we can consider our urges and other natural instincts to be “bio programs” that influence our behavior…. these biological programs have very simple goals:

1)keep us alive long enough that we can……
2) spread our genes much as possible…

the “idea” that as a male you want to have sex with a female partner is clearly biological…

the “belief” that as a male you should mate with your female partner as much as possible is clearly biological…

agreed. but as humans we have also evolved the ability to use this little substance that in most cases resides into our skulls and think. by thinking the human race has managed to control its emotional urges and biological needs.
