With allies like these...

Israeli government and their useful idiot Christianist American advocates continue to try to manipulate US into starting a war against Iran, despite intelligence assessments that have not changed in ten years.

Quote:
The last formal NIE on Iran in 2007, partially made public by the administration of President George W. Bush, became highly controversial because it said Tehran ha d halted nuclear weaponization work in 2003, a lthough other aspects of the overall program continued. A l ater update to that report retained that central assessment, sources have previously said.

James Clapper, U.S. director of national intelligence, said in congressional testimony in January: "We assess Iran is keeping open the option to develop nuclear weapons, in part by developing various nuclear capabilities that better position it to produce such weapons, should it choose to do so. We do not know, however, if Iran will eventually decide to build nuclear weapons."
It's legal under the NPT to develop "various nuclear capabilities" for civilian purposes. Nobody ever talks about this fact when discussing Iran's nuclear program. They're allowed to do what they're doing. And since we've had US-European sanctions against Iran's crumbling oil infrastructure for decades, we've left them in a position where they have to develop alternative power sources. It's important not to let warmongers get away with ambiguous "--but Iran has a nuclear program" statements. Of course they ****ing do.

What you're not allowed to do under the NPT is proliferate weapons technology, which the US has done in two confirmed cases in Israel and India.

Here is the thing, with nuclear technology. The thing, in my opinon, and my opinion comes from assuming that technology will advance in all areas gradually, if not quickly, but basically the point is, nuclear technology will be a lot easier to aquire as time goes on. Will it not?

I mean, in 50 years time, would it be quite easy to make a nuclear weapon, for a determined person or state? Certainly, I would imagine, it would be a lot easier.

What will we do then?

Another question, why is Iran an enemy of the United States? Is it because it's not a democracy? I read an article declaring Hugo Chavez an enemy of the United States. Wasn't he democratically elected?

I don't know. Those questions are in the periphery of what I'm talking about here.

Here is mainstream death and destruction advocate Jeffrey Goldberg praising and advocating for Obama as being more likely than Romney to attack Iran. Because we "must stop Iran". From what, I'm not exactly sure. But they must be stopped.

They call him the "liberal Democrat" option because he's not as far to the right as the further-to-the-right guy. Discourse in this country is ****ing ridiculous. Read the comments. They are the dumbest dregs of society but they're on every site, so it must be the majority here. This country is ****ed.

The US Government isn't worthy of the dignity of acknowledgment of its existence.

I would say that all 535 members of congress, the 9 justices of the Supreme Court, and the President should all be shot...but Bullets have valuable metal in them that could probably go to good use elsewhere. The cheapest and most satisfactory arrangement would be for some higher power to simply strike all them down dead where they stand one day...

don't go a wasting your precious mental resources and even more precious time on such dregs of human DNA.
