what current event are you mad about now?

I am certain of two things:

1) Democracy is overrated. I submit to you that ideas like "freedom" and "choice" often make life more difficult and tedious.

2) People in the developing world (see: not so democratic) are, in general, HAPPIER than people in democracies. People in democracies are certainly the most MISERABLE people on the planet. Obesity, depression, eating disorders, chemical dependence, suicide--the more "free" and "democratic" a society is, the more they are plagued by these things. FACT.

Nothing in particular. I just think freedom and democracy are ****ing retarded concepts, and actually go against human nature.

People in democracies either ignore their "freedom" or fetishize it. I am somewhere else, I think it sucks!

Aaron, do you know that career criminals who spend lots of their life in prison, often have trouble integrating into the real world when they are released, and will often commit petty crimes specifically so that they can be locked up again?

Inside prison, you lack freedom and choice, which would seem tragic if you are a democracy tard like BlackMilk. But, actually, this is comforting for most people. In prison, your entire life is highly structured and uncomplicated. The weight is off you to forge your own existence with blood sweat and tears (and stress, anxiety). Your essential needs are met. You are fed three meals a day, predictably. You are given shelter. Your life is restricted but you have something that most humans crave: STRUCTURE, PREDICTABILITY, SECURITY.

On the outside, its a ****ing unpredictable madhouse. Dog eat dog. No one gives a **** about you outside.

Democracy, lol!

on the flip side of that. people who experience homelessness often fall back into it, or deliberately quit their jobs and fall "off the radar" for exactly the opposite reasons. because there is no authority to answer to, no bills piling up, and no day to day structure. it is absolute freedom. not absolute, but some of the purest that humans can experience in a modern society.

i was happier and less angry, less frustrated, less stressed sleeping in a parking lot in hollywood a year ago than i am now where i have a job, income, and a secure place to live. i don't like my life now. i feel dead and numb and not alive.
