What do you all think of this mess.
I don't know what you would call this mess but if it escalates and causes a war we could have world war 3 on our hands. |

| | | I can't blame them.
They're under constant attack by a state that choose terrorists to be in their gouverment.
Those people kidnapped a soldier, killed another.
It's sad it's escalating again, but I can't blame Israël for invading Palastine again. |

| | | The Palestineans are under constant occupation by people who steal their land, steal their water, stop them a roadblocks, conduct assasinations on there territory. They have every right to resist occupation.
The issue here is that hundreds of people are being held without trial-why
is their detention less an outrage than that of one thug in uniform? |

LOL
im really sad and frightened. and even more concerned that there are still people who support bush adn are disgusted that people are vocal against him, as if we arent supposed to speak out against the president. USA today really truly reminds me of germany in the 30's.

Resisting occupation and being a terrorist are two different things.
Electing terrorists into your goverment is a bad thing, which led to support being dropped.
Only fair.
If you condemn terrorism, you are just as bad as the ones committing terrorism.
I wonder why Bush never invaded Palastine?
Maybe because it's not rich of oil?
Anyways, the international community decided (after a mass slaughter in the 40's) that Israël would get that stretch of land.
They stole some of the Palastines, yes, but they are in the process of giving it back.
They cleared the settlers off off the land, yet the attacks are still taking place.
You just don't hear about it in the news when it's a small attack.
And Israëli's have it just as bad as the Palastines.
Like a Jew that works on Palastinian territorry doesn't fear his life each time he goes to work.
As long as Palastinians think they can have Jerusalem as a capitol, it will never change there. |

None of us are in the minority. Remember, Bush is one of the most unpopular people in the world right now, including the US.
In fact I never hear anyone bother to support him anymore. Now if anyone wants to support anything they've switched from "Bush" to a more vague "Republican Party" as they are too ashamed to mention him.
What scares me is how people are looking to the Democrats like they're the next Jesus come to save them. The Democrats are corrupt too and I think people are trying to believe in a fairytale there.
I hope we get a woman president however. |

Jewish settlement in "Palestine" began almost a century ago,but it first it was
a very small social movement.
It was after World War 1, not two. that Britain signed the Balfour treaty with
Turkey, seedeing the land to Britain without any representation from the inhabitants (who had been told by a British agent, T.E.Lawrence, that if they
sided with the British in World War 1,they would get their own country).
After an Arab revolt in the twenties, centered in Iraq, the British decided
to hold off on handing Palestine over to Jewish immigrants. After world
war two its, true, the "United Nations"-pretty muuch an American front at the time,
decided to recognize Isreal-but lets not forget thatManachen Begin had no problem
blowing up a hotel full of British officers to move things along.
The land we are talking about though was stolen during the 1967 War.It had been
home to Palestineans, both those displaced in 48 and those who had never got their own state. It was seized by Isreal in a war with Egypt,Jordan, and Syria, and has been occupied ever since.Isreal actually paid impoverished Russian immigrants and others to settle Palestinean land-and while thy made a public show of closing some settlements last year,
they've encouraged more settlement in other areas of the territories.
The Idea that the Isrealis have it "just as bad" is silly. They aren't deprived of water rights in a desert.Their land isn't occupied by a foreign military. They have never been subject to an economic blockade because Isreal refuses to recognize aPalestinean State, rather than
an "Authority".
And as for the old quip that this is the one place int the Mid east that has no oil,Isreal makes one hell of an aircraft carrier to dominate the regeon.

Have you ever talked to someone who's been there?
I have.
Israël may not be occupied by a military, but it's being blown up by terrorists.
Each time anything happens to the Palastines, the finger gets pointed at them. (and bombs go off)
Remember that young boy that got shot while sitting next to his dad?
Bombs went of in Israël, the world fell over them, they all got mad.
It turned out he was shot by Palastinian fire.
But by than, nobody cared, and Israël got labeled as a child killer.
And FYI, the Hamas doesn't even consider Israëli's human.
They call them dogs.
They don't recognise Israël whilst Israël does recognises Palastinia, just not on the term set by the Palastinians.
Palastinians won't get Jerusalem.
They have part of it, be happy.
Israël has done (imo) plenty, given the Palastinians plenty of oppertunities, but each time some progress is made, more bombs go off in Israël.
How long must a goverment accept that before they strike back?
If I was in the Israëli gouverment, I would have bombed the crap out of them already, eleminate the threat. |
