laugh all you want...but the bottom line is the UK and the EU both have absolutely rotting balance sheets and when the people who have loaned them money to finance those balance sheets call it in...It's not going to be gentle times for the cradle of culture.

If there is a bright spot, its that the US is even more of a joke than Europe. This country is "functionally" bankrupt and gets away with its insolvency only by printing its debt payments in its own money and thus passively and tacitly ripping off every single commodities producing nation in the world.

I don't see a lot to laugh about or deride there. I don't hear China talking about "austerity" or "long term debt solutions". I don't see Brazil needing to hold any crises summits in Latin America.

David Cameron and Angela Merkel have to go and Europe has to start embracing reality as a peripheral participant in the world economy behind the I don't know 60% of the global population that lives in Latin America, China, and India. The US is living an equally Carrollesque delusion thinking its 330M consumers will still matter as soon as China and India develop a middle class lol. and last time I checked..It was China exporting rare earths (and getting $2.50+ long term for every dollar it loans the US), Australia exporting Iron Ore, Saudi Arabia exporting oil and gas, Russia exporting gas and timber....and the US and Europe importing them and consuming them....so yes...I think Europe and the US had better figure out a way to keep their currencies strong (or start making and exporting a lot of globally attractive things) or their populations are not going to be living the high life much longer.

I'm the poster child for a law abiding citizen...its the rest of the neighbors out there you have to worry about.

and so far my predictions are coming true if not right on schedule than certainly only a few minutes late in history...and that's not good for any of us.
