Gradually decreasing the quality of my own obituary.

I love that album. Especially Yoko's contributions. John's are a bit pipe-and-slippers, but all the better for it, I suppose. It was just the right type of album for him to have out at the time he was murdered, conveniently enough. Very warm, freshly emerged from the cocoon of their relationship.

I was 20 months, and not paying too much attention. Or any? I should ask my parents though. And I think I missed Pearl Harbour Day again. WWBAA/OJHD?

John Lennon was assassination by the C.I.A.? i think so.

I remember first of all hearing about Darby, and then John and all I could think of was "woah!", even more so when I found out Darby didn't accidentally OD but orchestrated it so that his death would make the front page, and John being shot completely eclipsed it.

OMG, I was 16 at the time and working part time at "Perkins Cake And Steak", two days before I recall myself and a couple other employees at the time got caught inhaling nitrous oxide from aerosol whipped cream cans and the 21 year old upwardly mobile Nazi assistant manager put us "on report". Oddly enough, whenever I see cans of whipped cream I somehow think of Darby and John.

You're older than me Drachen. I'm 46. My sister & I were highschool age at the time and heard the news on the local FM radio rock station. We spent the rest of the night getting high, listening to Beatles & Lennon albums (back when vinyl was king) and feeling outraged.
The theater had marathon showings of Let It Be, Hard Days Nigh & Magical Mystery Tour the following weekends.
