While there are multiple dominant powers, there is always the risk of mass-conflict between the allies, direct or through proxy.

As it is, whether it is fair or not, the world is relatively stable due to the US and EU domination.

But is it fair on the Iranians?

Personally, I think any country that is in a religious dictatorship is way too...untrustable to have world destroying power at its fingertips - at least in western nations, the government has some sort of accountability to its people.
