Exclamation Abu Musab al-Zarqawi (beheaded Nick Berg etc) killed in air raid!

Freaking sweet, enjoy your stay in hell! RIP to all those who lost their lives to this asshole. Here's the story with a link at the bottom:

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the al-Qaida leader in Iraq who waged a bloody campaign of suicide bombings and beheadings of hostages, has been killed in a precision airstrike, U.S. and Iraqi officials said Thursday. It was a long-sought victory in the war in Iraq.

Al-Zarqawi and seven aides were killed Wednesday evening in a remote area 30 miles northeast of Baghdad in the volatile province of Diyala, just east of the provincial capital of Baqouba, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said.

"Al-Zarqawi was eliminated," al-Maliki said.

At the White House, President Bush hailed the killing, saying it is "a severe blow to al-Qaida and it is a significant victory in the war on terror."

But he cautioned: "We have tough days ahead of us in Iraq that will require the continuing patience of the American people."

Al-Qaida in Iraq confirmed al-Zarqawi's death and vowed to continue its "holy war," according to a statement posted on a Web site.

"We want to give you the joyous news of the martyrdom of the mujahed sheik Abu Musab al-Zarqawi," said the statement, signed by "Abu Abdel-Rahman al-Iraqi," identified as the deputy "emir" or leader of al-Qaida in Iraq.

"The death of our leaders is life for us. It will only increase our persistence in continuing holy war so that the word of God will be supreme."

Video from the scene of the attack showed children scrambling over a flattened jumble of cinderblocks, concrete reinforcing bars, blankets, blue plastic bowls and other debris. A pickup truck was scorched and crushed.

Two young members of the crowd showed the camera a child's sandal, a backpack with a teddy bear on it and a stuffed animal. The site sat across a dirt road from a grove of palm trees.

Oh, fucking whoopee.

NOW WHERE IS OSAMA BIN LADEN???

The guy was an "associate" of Al Qaeda... which basically means, he agreed with the idea that America sucks. He wasn't involved in 9/11. And he didn't have any "weapons of mass destruction". He "killed people"? Kind of like how we're bombing the shit out of Iraq and shooting two year olds, eh? Haditha is okay?

So what. One more dead guy.

Maybe the White House can spin this story to get Bush's approval rating out of the toilet.

But I don't think so. We're all sick to death of this ridiculous needless occupation. Time to get the guy we were supposed to be after and get the fuck out of a country that had NOTHING TO DO with 9/11.

Lyrics to Neil Young’s “Let’s Impeach the President”:

Let’s impeach the president for lying
And leading our country into war
Abusing all the power that we gave him
And shipping all our money out the door

He’s the man who hired all the criminals
The White House shadows who hide behind closed doors
And bend the facts to fit with their new stories
Of why we have to send our men to war

Let’s impeach the president for spying
On citizens inside their own homes
Breaking every law in the country
By tapping our computers and telephones

What if Al Qaeda blew up the levees
Would New Orleans have been safer that way
Sheltered by our government’s protection
Or was someone just not home that day?

Let’s impeach the president
For hijacking our religion and using it to get elected
Dividing our country into colors
And still leaving black people neglected

Thank god he’s cracking down on steroids
Since he sold his old baseball team
There’s lot of people looking at big trouble
But of course the president is clean

Thank God

Let's hope OBL is next, but for now...

I can understand your reaction Klimt but this isn’t really a 9/11 issue, this is an issue of a guy causing huge damage to his own country for his own psychotic beliefs. He killed people in the worst fashion so surely he should be punished (like any other killer) & now he can do it no more. There may be others to come but at least this jerk is gone. For whatever reason, if we like it or not Iraq was occupied & the soldiers are just going to have to do the best they can while down there, & taking this guy out is a plus for Iraq.

Anyway, footage can be seen here:

I find it a little fishy that we always seem to capture and kill these big namers immediately following some grave scandal in the military. First the Abu Grab (however you spell it) scandal hit and we suddenly found Saddam Hussein in a hole in the middle of nowhere in the desert. Now we have the Marine civilian massacre and suddenly we manage to locate and bomb the hell out of Abu Musab Al Zarqawi.

Mere coincidence. I think not.

I think we have always known where these murderers were and we're just keeping them in our back pockets until we need them to bring some kind of glory back to our tattered image. (Good luck with that!)

That's finally positive news coming out of Iraq but I'm curious to see what happens next and how much of what we've heard about that man was true or fiction. interesting times..

Seriously. How many times have we killed or captured the "# 2 man in Al qaida"? Either the govt. is lying to us (impossible, you're thinking!) and these people aren't as important to Al qaida as they want us to think, or there are many many people standing around waiting to take his place.

I think it's probably both, but for every minute we stay in Iraq, another Zarqawi is rising.

But incidentally, did everyone see the Zarqawi "bloopers/outtakes" that they showed on the daily show? Apparently he used swords because he can't handle a gun.

Actually, the people who beheaded Nick Berg were wearing hoods.

And there is a whole lot of stuff on the internet about that beheading being staged by our own military. Nick Berg was no flaming patriot, boys and girls. He was working over there as a contractor trying to get the phone lines to work again. NO BIG LOSS TO OUR GOVERNMENT, but a great photo-op to generate outrage towards Islamic fundamentalists (Google it and read all the strange details in that footage that point to it being a bunch of Caucasians doing the dirty work).

If you actually believe Al-Zarqawi was such a bigwig, go back and look at what he was alleged to have done as a terrorist. He's a small fish.

AND HE'S NOT OSAMA BIN LADEN. AND IRAQ DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH 9/11. Get it through your thick skull and realize you're being fed bullshit.
