I got distracted by this sentence. How did Fritzl not control his victims with mental torture? I think there was a bit of control through mental torture going on even though they were also locked in a basement. |

They were in touch with various government agencies like social services and the NHS, and theoretically, if it wasnt for the mental hold, could have escaped their abuser.
