Sophia, you're being asked to explain why you said something that you said. That has nothing to do with intellectualism or any attempt to discredit you.
What you don't seem to understand is that, if someone asks you to explain something, and you refuse, YOU are discrediting YOURSELF. "Discredit" implies that "credit" being removed. In your case, you are simply revealing to everyone the absence of such "credit" in the first place. People ask you to elaborate on something you've said, and when you can't, it makes it clear that it was just a house of cards.
As for the quote, you are either taking him entirely out of context, or he is every bit as much of a snivelling self-pitying crybaby as you are.
i finished watching the barak obama infomercial and i am crying again. every time i am exposed to obama speaking of his ideas and plans for change i end up crying out of hope. i become hopeful and its so scary to be that hopeful, that i end up bawling.
i believe in him. i have never believed in a politician so much as i do him. i am going to have to ignore the process from here on out, because its so close now. im just going to vote on tuesday and wake up wednesday to either the usa that i feel will make it or a usa that will spiral even further down.

From another outsiders point of view, I've been watching a bit of 'fox news' lately and it is basically an entire 24/7 channel dedicated to the republicans. It's at comedic proportions. So i just thought I would share, because I'm the only person in the world to notice.
I enjoyed their headline about the rest of the american media being 'unbalanced' in their reporting. I feel kind of ashamed that Murdoch started his empire in this little country town.
It's all biased, from every side, and every view. I hate it all but can't turn it off.
Matt has to nudge me frequently, "Uhhhh hey..... it's cycled through the same news three times now..... Can I watch Heroes yet??"
I'll be glad when the election's over, just so that it's over.

i don't watch FOX but was surprised to hear they aired this infomercial too

As I understand it, The Liberal Media conspires to keep stories out of the press that would damage their interests. Murdoch media can be trusted because it does not censor these stories. These stories include "OMG OBAMA HAS MIDDLE NAME".
