| | | i hate hearing stories like this. one, it's a loss of a human life, and, two, it's over a HAT?! they don't put up danger signs for nothing. i'm sure he could have retrieved the hat at the end of the day.
anyway, it's just sad. |

I kind of agree with SundayDress though, a hat is not worth your life.
I like amusement parks, but when I'm at one the thought of getting killed is always in the back of my head. I refuse to go on rides that go upside down because I know I'll probably fall out.

| | | i would have been so mad if i'd been there and the batman ride was closed out of respect for the family. i'm sure the family is not going to stand around watching the roller coaster in horror anyway. what do they have to do with it? i paid for access to all the rides!
last year, in my city, a girl died on a ride at a christian music festival called life fest (don't laugh, you will go straight to hell do not pass go), and they shut it down for the rest of the event. but that makes sense because she died from a problem with the ride itself. that makes sense. |

in fact. i might do that whether i was the family or not. it'd probably still be effective.
but i mean. if you rode it. that same day. wouldn't you be wondering HEY AM I IN THE CHAIR THAT DID IT?
may or may not be interesting but i'd probably get the heebs and jump off mid-ride and die too.

| | | but wouldn't you feel that always?
anyway, carnival rides are scarier.
remember that ride with the jamaican guy & his hat that we went on at Six Flags Vallejo?
the carnival ride version of that, totally threw a 6 year old right the fuck off of it.
and i bet that same preticular sizzler ride is still travelling to fairs near you.

lol.
anyways yes. i guess everyone will be spooked on the batman ride for the rest of times. kind of wonder if that will make it MORE popular or LESS popular. 'specially so soon after.
one time when i was little, some lady fainted or had a heart attack or sthng on the ninja at six flags magic mountain while we were waiting in line. whatever it was, the ambulance came. and uh. i kinda didn't want to go on it anymore after that cause i didn't want to sit on a chair some azn had a stroke in.

| | | well, there is a closer batman ride to me than that one. and i still want to go on it. i think if anyone convinced themselves it was dangerous to go on any version of the ride because that kid went under the damn thing and died, they should probably never leave their basement anyway, for fear of death.
but does anyone remember hearing a rumor that stephanie tanner died on a roller coaster? but then no, she was just on meth. |

| | | well you're really asking for it. so i have no sympathy and no fear for the batman ride itself. one time i went on the medusa and forgot to put my shit in the cubby. i was holding my flipflops, wallet, keys, sunnies & my compact. and then i lost my bandana. :rip:
but i'm still alive cuz i didn't retrieve it.
it's the shit like "DROP ZONE AMPUTATES GIRLS LEG OFF" that scares me. but even then, i still go on it.
there was that one ride that killed like 80 people in it's hayday (it's since been taken down) but then i'd totally ride that too.

| | | I feel terrible for this boy. But, I have been to Six Flags Over Georgia many, many times, and no one in their right mind would jump over that fence. That ride is dangerous, the design and whatnot. I don't see how someone could have the balls to do that. |
