| | I've been for Hillary since before I'd even heard of some young upstart called Barack Obama, but I wish him the best of luck. US elections: Jimmy Carter tells Barack Obama not to pick Hillary Clinton as running mate | World news | guardian.co.uk
Carter thinks an Obama/Clinton ticket now would be far too negative, but I can't help thinking it might be the best way to unite the party and ensure the best possible result. I'll admit there is a lot of negative Hillary shit out there, and I'd agree that it seems going from being adversaries to running mates does smack of opportunism, but it is opportunism on both parts, and it is opportunism that ensures the maximum Democrat vote. |

| | | i think the whole dream ticket thing would've been a great idea -- three months ago.
putting them together wouldn't bring the democratic party together at all. it'd just tear them down & give the republicans the right ammo they need to take this home.
just an outsiders POV.
personally, i'm done with this whole thing. i'm not really one for choosing the lesser of two evils like most people who do the politics thing are. & i've never been sworn in to be either a democrat or a republican so i could honestly care less what happens to either/or's party & which one takes office, seeing as they're both bad jokes.
in any case, i doubt i'll vote in november. not to join the hillraiser parade or anything. just so there's no drama. so may the least shittiest man win.

plus, I think a joint ticket would be a big fuck you to everyone who wants to see either of them fail. |

i mean. i know bc i'm a mixed breed i should feel something or whatever. but obama claiming black is like me claiming mexican. i'm a damn half breed and i know it.
and i'm really tired of hearing about jfk in relation to obama. jfk didn't do shit. he was reluctant to vote for civil rights bc of his white, southern supporters.
$0.02
thanks political forum. for letting me be a dick about it.

| | | well that's actually more the route i wanted to go with during my shittadelic stay in the politics forum.
halfbreeds aren't really any more special than the real ones. if i actually staked claim to all my mixez then i'd join the latin kings, smoke a lot of weed & rap over reggae beats, &.. do whatever faggy french people do in their free time.
i'm pretty much living proof that there are more shittier things to be mixed with than just blk&wht, so i really feel no sympathy for obama when he goes on his little "well my'sa ~*white*~ grandma was'a racist" pips. coz lets just be honest here; if you're mixed, chances are your grandmother's are racist, & you've been a victim of some kind of racism in your life. it's not that shocking of a concept.
but w/e. i guess it counts. but from what i've seen, people of sOmE KiNd oF colOR have chosen not to vote for obama because he's actually too 'white' & has proved nothing for true civil rights movements other than moving up in a 'white man's world' by tapping in to the 'white man's wants/needs'.
a sell out, basically.
& you would think they'd know, guys. not some white people sitting around being all like "you know what, i'm not going to be a dick today & vote for obama because i'm not a racist & i love blk people."

. | it's not obama claiming black. it's people not voting for him bc he's black. (see north carolina). and he was forced to talk about some race stuff because people kept forcing the issue. before a few months ago, his stance was 'race is irrelevant, and it should remain that way.'

| | I know a lot of people were pissed off by Clinton's tactics, but it does seem she was preparing Obama for the Republican onslaught... http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/05/us...s/05rezko.html
'Minutes after the verdict was announced, the Republican National Committee began circulating an e-mail message titled “Rezko: Obama’s Longtime Friend and Money Man” that sought to link the two over a 20-year period. The committee also posted a Web site and a video.'

| | | lol @ people whining about the black thing...esp if they aren't from the united states. this is the country that came up with the "one drop" rule so it really doesn't fucking matter that he's a "half breed" or if he has attempt to define himself as anything else. tiger woods never defined himself as black as far as I can remember, yet you will see countless articles referring to him as such. god bless america, and shit.
