I am going to tell you of one example. Every home has a smoke detector. Do you know what and how a smoke detector works?

Smoke particles enter the smoke detector chamber. The ions are attracted to them and become attracted to them. How are these ions produced you ask? Radiation from a tiny amount of radioactive materials knocks electrons off nitrogen and oxygen atoms in the air. This material emits this radiation for hundreds of years with no power input by a phenomenon called radioactive decay.

Each smoke detector emits very small amounts of radiation but you are exposed to this radiation over a long term and from various and from multiple sources.

This is just one thing that emits radiation and there are many more things that emit small amounts of radiation and the accumulation of all this radiation over the long term is what causes cancer. This report does not include lung cancer just all other types..
