Technology may render government obsolete. With free energy the world could live in peace and harmony, with everyone able to care for themselves. No hunger or war; no racism or fighting. But what would happen to politics? Would people have a need greater than their own resourcefulness? Would theoretical communism be a viable manner for people to live: precipitating into common groups of like-minded people?
Can people really be happy and independent, or do they need political leaders to decide for them?
What IS the brave new world ahead of us? 2012? Nibiru? Are these excuses to keep us controlled by the power elite?

i could give you a science explanation of why it doesn't give free energy, but you might be better convinced by the long history of similar devices here, none of which have made the inventors rich or changed society, because none of them actually work

It appears as though the second machine goes by itself. I guess we should stop research into new technologies then.
"Sorry Mr. Galileo, but it appears as though your device doesn't prove anything; when we looked through it all we saw was the horizon to the flat earth; we already told you the Earth was flat; besides, the church says you are an arrogant jerk!"

You didn't bother to read this bit?

the medieval church, or anyone else with half an education, didn't believe the earth was flat, that's a myth that started in the 1800s. people have thought it spherical since the ancient greeks. galileo's argument with the church was whether the earth was in the centre of the solar system or the sun.
no one should stop researching new technologies, but part of research is throwing out what is false, or just letting it whither and die. seeing as how the second machine was patented in 1979 and has yet to change the world or make anyone rich. my guess, without regard to it breaking an iron law of physics, is it's whithering and dying.
"free" energy exists from wind, solar, hydro-electric, tidal and geothermal sources. it threatens the oil industry, yet the people who just made great increases in the efficiency of photovoltaic cells aren't demonstrating their work in sheds via youtube, they are selling their work to nasa
