IL. State Rep Tells Atheist To: "Get Out Of That Seat. You Don't Belong Here!"
Illinois state rep Monique Davis rips into Atheist activist Rob Sherman during a committee meeting regarding $1 million that was suppose to go to a Baptist church. Sherman is well known in Illinois. He's taken municipalities and the state itself to court for crossing the line between church and state. It should be no surprise Ms. Davis is also a member of the infamous Trinity United Church of Christ. The same church that gave us Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
Keith Olbermann named Ms. Davis his "Worst Person In The World" last night. That's a real accomplishment. Olbermann usually names republican crackpots as his worst persons. But last night she out shined Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly.
This the retarded state I live in. The middle school I went to couldn't afford for us to take our books home. We had to leave them at school.
And they want us to give 1 million of our tax dollars to a CHURCH?
She mentions guns in school, and I will tell you that's one reason why the kids around here are so angry. It's because they are poor, uneducated, and pissed off that no one cares.

Whether some one believes in god or not is none of anyone elses business, but if the gov. is interested in investing money into something that will teach morals, the church is pretty shit value for money seeing that it only values people of that particular faith, often lacking in basic facts of life, biased ect ect.
It kind of makes me wanna vom seeing with my own eyes in some areas of immense poverty in the bible belt still manage to have a church that is in walking distance from everyone's house when they could have had a more practical amenity.
One of Northampton's few notable citizens was Charles Bradlaugh, who was instrumental in allowing atheists to be open about their atheism rather than having to fake belief for the sake of appearances. It's kind of messed up to see you guys having this kind of conflict a good 150 years later.

Illinois is controlled by the democrats and they've done a good job of looking like morons. Our governor, Ms. Davis, Todd Stroger, and I've also been a little annoyed by our Attorney General Lisa Madigan. What hurts is I voted for Madigan and Blagojevich.

The pilgrim baptist church is considered a historical landmark. It burnt down in '06. My governor said he'd send them a check for a million dollars to help them rebuild. Weeks passed by and no check. Turns out the check was sent to the wrong place. I thought it was another church but I was wrong. It was sent to a private school, who state officials thought belonged to the pilgrim baptist church. Anyway, Our governor said he'd simply write another check. Illinois is struggling financially and he's giving away taxpayer money like its going out of style. Historic or not he shouldn't be giving any church money.
How is that even possible? Was the school able to cash the check? Can't they make them give the money back? Man, you've got some idiots over there!

Hehe, Monique Davis called the atheist she attacked at a state committee meeting and apologized. Rob Sherman, the atheist she attacked, says global criticism of her comments were overwhelming.
I guess getting called a "worst person" by Keith Olbermann was too much for her.
